Community Organizer Training with LA Voice

December 3, 2023 @ 1:00 pm 4:00 pm PST

Join us for a two part community organizer training with your fellow Nefesh community members

As a community, we know the value of taking action for Tikkun Olam and creating a better world. But we don’t always have the tools to do it effectively. We’re thrilled to invite the Nefesh community to build our skills together in organizing for social change at this critical time.

This Fall we will hold a Community Organizing Training – hosted by our LA Voice Community organizer, Angel Mortel, and co-facilitated by Rabbinic Intern Sasha Perry, and Jordana Fraider, Nefesh’s Executive Director. This training is an opportunity for Nefesh members to learn the knowledge, skills, and practices of organizing that will help you build collective power and bring meaningful change to your communities across any issue. During this training, we’ll be covering:

Theory of Change – a road map for understanding the steps to achieve our shared goals

Power – Foundational understanding of power and how it shapes our view of ourselves and our work in communities.

Organizing as a cycle and process – Discuss the types of organizing; activism, advocacy, direct service, and their different efficacies.

Building Teams – What are your skills and what are the skills of those around you?

Strategic Campaigns – Listening campaigns, research meetings, taking action.
