A playlist for Black History Month from Bobby Apperson
February Spotify Playlist

A playlist by Bobby Apperson: What I’m listening to. I post these playlists on weeks when Nefesh doesn’t gather for Shabbat service, so typically the last week of the month. Due to the holidays and a busy January, it’s my first one to share with you since Thanksgiving!

This Black History Month edition will be updated throughout the month and features:

  • Black artists and women of color whose voices I try to elevate here, including trans artist Shea Diamond, Alicia Keys, MILCK, Beyoncé, black country artist Mickey Guyton, Yola, Cynthia Erivo, Tracy Chapman, Ben Harper, Lenny Kravitz. Some outstanding voices (some pictured here)
  • Jewish artists, including Shoshana Bean, Leonard Cohen, Batya Levine, Randy Rainbow; country artists including Brandi Carlile and Dolly
  • Jewish podcasts The Study and and a discussion with Yehudah Price on Healing Through Faith
  • A new track from Charlie Hickey, son of Nefesh Associate Music Director, Sally Dworsky
