Rabbi Susan Goldberg leads High Holy Day services at Nefesh!
Entering into the New Year one step at a time. We put down the screens and step into the New Year on this Erev Rosh Hashanah and Erev Shabbat, doubling the goodness in a new way. We invite you to join us for a moving meditation.
As the sun sets join Nefesh for a walking audio service. Music, prayer, and an intention for the holy days that begin now. Come meet us to walk in a socially distanced path “together” or start your own journey wherever you are.
- 5:30-6pm Check-in and sanitized headphone pick-up
- 6pm Candle-lighting
- 6:30-7:15pm Echo Park lake walk with headphones (seating area, restrooms, and water provided)
- For those who are not able to walk there will be a socially-distanced seating area available on site, or you can experience the whole audio service seated in whatever location works for you.
Headphones with audio track provided
If you requested a prayer book for the holy days (we will not be using it Friday night – but you will need it for the other services) you can pick it up in person Thursday at St Be’s (5-7pm) 2109 Chickasaw Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90041 or Friday at the Echo Park event
Address Friday: Meet at saintala.org 840 Echo Park Avenue LA, CA 90026 and head out on our socially-distanced walk around Echo Park Lake together
Parking under the building
Audio download of the guided walk will be sent to you Thursday. You do not need to download if you are attending in person. Headphones with audio will be provided
Of course we are aware of the air quality and at this point it looks like it will improve by Friday night. The beauty of this service is that it’s designed so you can experience it on your own and inside if you chose. We will be checking the air conditions daily and if it changes we will let you know and have you not come in person.
