Days of Awe 5781 Special Programming

Join Nefesh community as we present Days of Awe special programming between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
- Sunday 9/20 – City-Wide Shofar Wave
Nefesh participates in the L.A. Shofar Wave, sponsored by the Jewish Federation and Ikar. Each shul will invite their ba’alei tekiah (shofar blowers) to bring the sound of the shofar as a wave to every corner of our beloved city. Exact timing for our community coming soon – likely close to 3pm
- Monday 9/21 – Tashlich meditation
Rabbi Susan leads a tashlich audio meditation. You can use the audio on Monday or any day that you choose! (released online day of)
- Tuesday 9/22 7pm – Holding Space
Rabbi Susan holds an open space for you to come with questions and reflections during these Days of Awe.
- Wednesday 9/23 Nefesh Morning Offering
10am on Facebook Live: Our usual Nefesh Morning Offering of song, prayer, and gratitude will be about this special period of reflection as we prepare for Yom Kippur.
- Thursday 9/24 – 4pm Zentangles on Grief & Gratitude with Katie
Teaching Artist Katie Lipsitt will lead a class in drawing Grief & Gratitude Meditation Doodles, a contemplative drawing class inspired by the themes of this year’s Days of Awe. All ages welcome!
- Saturday 9/26 – 7pm Havdalah and Sound Bath
Rabbi Susan, Duvid, and Sally will lead us out of Shabbat and ready us for Yom Kippur with a beautiful Havdalah service. Then, Musician, Film & TV Composer & Former Shudder to Think Frontman Craig Wedren will offer one of his Sabbath Sessions, an immersive musical meditation of ambient choral music, sampling, and looping resulting in a unique kind of soundbath. http://www.craigwedren.com/sab-sesh
