SUMMARY:In this Moment: A Trans and Ally Gathering and Teach In
DESCRIPTION:Please join Nefesh for a day of gathering in community for Trans safety and solidarity \n\n\n\nIn this critical moment\, our Jewish community holds unique power to advocate for and be in solidarity with our trans\, nonbinary\, and intersex community members. Join us as we hear directly from the community about what’s needed—and how we can all step up to ensure safety\, dignity\, and justice for trans people everywhere. \n\n\n\nThis event will begin with an update on both legal status and healthcare access; how we got here and what we can expect\, provided by Nefesh community members who are lawyers and health care workers. We will then move into community circles: one for allies and parents lead by Nefesh kin\, and another for the trans\, nonbinary and intersex community lead by a trans therapist for support\, shared space\, and organizing. \n\n\n\nWe look forward to connecting with each other to build our network of support for the work ahead. We hope to see you there! \n\n\n\nWhen: Sunday\, May 4th 10:45am-12:15pm \n\n\n\nWhere: St. Be’s Church Parish Hall in Eagle Rock: 2109 Chickasaw Ave\, Los Angeles\, CA 90041 \n\n\n\nNOTE: St. Be’s is now also housing St. Mark’s of Altadena\, whose church burned down in the fires. They will be in the sanctuary on Sunday morning\, and we will be upstairs in the Parish Hall. The Parish Hall is up a flight of stairs\, which is a challenge for accessibility; so the event will also be on Zoom to provide greater accessibility (Zoom link sent once you register). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign Up
