Nefesh Music Director
In 2012, Duvid formed the indie pop band Distant Cousins, creating music for TV, film, and a variety of artists. Credits include “This Is Where I Leave You” (Warner Bros), “A Million Little Things” (ABC network) , “Daddy’s Home” (Paramount) ,”How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” (Dreamworks), and MLB Network.
Duvid grew up in a musical village in the hills between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, performing at an early age with Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. Duvid’s parents had come to Israel in the early 70’s. “When we were growing up”, explains Duvid, “the only electrical appliance in the house was a record player. So, while American kids might be growing up watching television and playing video games, we were listening to the records our parents brought with them- Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Neil Young”. In 1999, Duvid and his band moved to Los Angeles to sign a record deal with SONY JMG. There, Duvid lept head first into the vibrant Los Angeles music scene- creating music with Grammy award winning musicians and producers Ron Aniello (Bruce Springsteen, Guster, Barenaked Ladies) Cliff Norrell (Sting, REM, No Doubt), Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters, Wallflowers) and Arron Embery (Jane’s Addiction, Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros).
Duvid is married and has two boys, both of whom love to strum the guitar.
